Southampton Primary Care Trust Health and Lifestyle Survey 2006
Synopsis:
Southampton Primary Care Trust conducted this survey in partnership
with Southampton City Council to collect information on the health
related behaviours of the city’s residents. Data gathered through the
survey was used to target health and social care resources
appropriately, and to provide a baseline for monitoring the impact of
interventions designed to improve health and well-being.
The survey was completed by adults registered with a GP and was
conducted by postal questionnaire. A total of 1777 completed
questionnaires were returned ensuring reliable findings were produced
for 11 priority areas in Southampton.
The questionnaire collected data on a range of subjects including
general health, use of health services, diet, physical activity, sun
awareness, sexual health and housing.
