Leicestershire County and Rutland Healthy Living Survey 2007
Synopsis:
The Leicestershire County and Rutland Healthy Living Survey was
posted to 4452 people registered with a GP. 1758 questionnaires were
completed, 10 of which were submitted online as a result of the
development of an online survey. The survey was undertaken for a number
of reasons including assessing health inequalities and to create a
baseline dataset that can be used as a comparison for future surveys.
The survey collected data on demographics, housing, general health,
anxiety, smoking, diet, alcohol consumption, exercise and fitness. The
report concluded that the health of men may be a cause for concern with
high levels of overweight men, and an indication that men are eating
more fatty and processed foods. Both men and women reported suffering
from stress. The difficulty of giving up smoking, and the problem of a
finding a dentist were also reported as key findings.
