Choosing Health? A Consultation on Improving People's Health
Synopsis:
The aims and objectives of the survey were to establish respondent
views on current health and lifestyle, the changes people would like to
make and the help they need in order to make changes. Ultimately, the
report will help shape future NHS services and determine how health care
is provided in the future. In total there were just over 2,600 responses
to the survey in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North East of which
some 730 were from respondents located in the South Yorkshire Strategic
Health Authority area.
The questionnaire covered the following themes:
- current and future health
- preferences for information about improving health / lifestyle
- sexual health
- improving health and lifestyle
- factors that impact (positively and negatively) upon health
- fairness – individual versus collective choice on health and
lifestyle
- the role of central, local government and the NHS – what more
can organisations, groups and individuals do?
