Survey Errors
These can be of two types:
- Sampling Error is the
error resulting from selecting a sample rather than taking a
full census
- Non-sampling Errors are
all the other sources of error that potentially come with conducting a
survey and include:
- Sampling frame inaccuracies
- Mis-defining of the population
- Measurement of the error
- Data analysis error
- Questioning error, recording error, response error
- Non response
The key task in survey research is to minimise all errors to ensure
maximum precision in the survey estimates |
