Review of the Research Process

A Lifestyle Survey follows the same process as any survey or other research.  It starts by stating the purpose of the survey and its objectives and ends with a report of findings.  However, before undertaking or commissioning a survey, it is crucial to specify the purpose of the research, to set research objectives, and to assess the value of the information to ensure that it is worthwhile to undertake the research. Only then should the research design and research method be considered.  This is shown in the diagram below, which illustrates the research process.  A useful step-by-step guide to the research process is also given at: http://www.rdinfo.org.uk/flowchart/Flowchart.html.
